District 1 Commissioner Miles D. Robinson, Sr.

Born in Jackson, Mississippi and raised in that city as well as Chicago, Illinois, Commissioner Robinson lives in Tuskegee. He received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Tuskegee University and an Masters degree in Management/Supervision & Administration also from Tuskegee University. He also completed graduate work in Business Administration at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM).

Leadership Philosophy:

“My leadership philosophy is aligned with transformational leadership. It is a leadership style that can inspire positive changes in others. Transformational leaders are those who stimulate and inspire followers to both achieve extraordinary outcomes and, in the process, develop their own leadership capacity. This has been my leadership philosophy during my tenure as a County Commissioner.”

District 1 encompasses the following communities within Macon County:

  • Alliance
  • Little Texas
  • Moton Field
  • Tuskegee, portion of
  • Tuskegee National Forest, portion of
  • Tuskegee University
